Acne Cystic Natural Treatment

Acne is a condition of the skin which affects up to 80 percent of females and 90 percent of males. It starts as blackheads or clogged pores that become infected and become whiteheads. The whiteheads can expand and become firm nodules or cysts, called cystic acne. In severe cases, it can turn into scarring that lasts for life. There are medical treatments for acne, including cystic acne but there are also natural treatments as well. Some people prefer acne, cystic, natural treatment over conventional medical therapies.

Tea tree oil is a commonly used natural remedy for cystic acne. It is one of the essential oils and it is diluted with alcohol and applied to each of the acne lesions. It contains an ingredient known as terpinen-4-ol that has antibacterial action on the acne lesions. It kills the lesions by getting to the bacteria that are the basis behind acne lesions.

Another acne, cystic, natural treatment is known as zinc. It is slightly less effective than antibacterial treatments but is given orally for the treatment of mild to moderate acne. It has the side effects of a metallic taste in the mouth and digestive upset but it can be used along with other treatments for an additive effect on the cystic acne.

It turns out that one can apply certain spices, fruits and vegetables to acne. Turmeric is just one treatment. It can be taken internally and also applied to the skin, providing antiseptic properties to the skin. When taken by mouth, it should be taken with warm milk and it is intended to help the immune system get rid of the acne and to try out the acne, removing the skin blemishes.

Another way to use turmeric on cystic acne is to mix it with coconut oil or possibly sesame oil and warm the concoction in a small teaspoon before applying it to the acne-prone areas. Leave the paste on for approximately twenty minutes before bedtime so that it can dry and remain on your face overnight. Wash it off the next day and the acne will be improved.

Cucumber works well as an acne, cystic, natural treatment. You are supposed to extract the juices of the cucumber and put the juice on your face and clean your skin with it. It acts like an astringent, drying the skin and keeping acne at bay. The juice of plain tomatoes works the same way and should be applied for about five minutes per day. It takes about three to four weeks to see a maximal improvement.

Acne responds well to exfoliation. One natural way of exfoliating the skin is to us grain flour along with a pinch of turmeric and several drops of pure coconut oil. Mix it up into a paste and apply it like a face mask all over the acne lesions. When it dries, you wash it off and you should expect to have removal of dead skin cells, along with bacteria. The skin is smoother and acne is less.
