Candida Skin Moles
Candida is the medical name for thrush, a yeast infection which can be found in the vagina and in the mouth. The underlying bacteria, candida albicans, can be found in most people, but it only causes problems in a few. You may not know that one of the symptoms is skin moles.
The source of skin moles is deep-organ candida, which is an invasive form of the condition that can appear in any part of the body. Those at risk of developing candida include those whose immune systems are suppressed as a result of disease or people who are taking courses of antibiotics.
Skin moles are just one of many symptoms of candida. Candida appears on the skin as a red, raised area which is sometimes scaly. It is a rash caused by inflammation.
The skin of the mouth and vagina are also affected by candida. Moles in the mouth have a white, creamy appearance. Moles which appear on the walls of the vagina cause redness, inflammation and an intensely itchy, burning sensation.
Babies can develop candida on their skin in the form of a red, inflamed rash. Candida appears around the nails as a painful swelling which can ooze pus in the later stages. The skin on the head of the penis can also become inflamed as a result of candida.
Candida on the skin may appear unsightly, but candida on the internal organs is far more pernicious. It can cause damage to the valves of the heart and the lungs produce bloody sputum. It can also affect the eyes or kidneys.
If candida reaches the internal organs it causes high fever, chills and anaemia. It is likely to be carried to internal organs as a result of disorders such as leukaemia, which transports the bacteria through the blood.
Candida can be treated without attending a doctor, using over-the-counter medications. Anti-fungal medications like Femizole 7 and Monistat-Derm are most effective. If an infection persists and becomes more serious, IV treatments can be administered in hospital. Antibiotics should be discontinued until symptoms clear.
In the case of candida caused by nappy rash, treat the skin with barrier cream and change nappies frequently. People who are susceptible to candida of the skin are advised to keep their skin dry to prevent further infections.
Candida on the skin of the vagina can be treated with antifungals such as Monistat Vagina, Vagistat Vagina or Gyne-Lotrimm. Many women prefer to take a single oral treatment for vaginal candida.
Some practitioners believe that a low-yeast, low-sugar diet reduces the effect of candida of the skin. Carbohydrate intake is severely limited and foods high in yeast, such as beer, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese paste, are cut out. Suffers are recommended to eat meats such as chicken and turkey, vegetables without start and shellfish.
Prevention is particularly effective in combating candida skin moles. Keep the skin clean and dry and free from cuts and abrasions. This removes the breeding ground of candida bacteria.
